Founded in 1992, Greentree Waterproofing is Springfield's oldest basement and crawl space waterproofing company with over 75 years of combined experience in the field. Providing waterproofing services for clients within a 90 miles radius of its headquarters. Wet basements, slab leaks and muddy crawl spaces are not uncommon for cental Illinois. Company at least 10 years or more of waterproofing experience with ample of referrals of clients in your area. Don't hesistate to ask where the Inspector gained his waterproofing training and knowledge!
Always check with the Better Business Bureau, this will give you a wealth of knowledge regarding the company. Be sure to observe when the membership started with the BBB.
Speak with the business owner yourself, ask where he/she gained their waterproofing knowledge and experience. Don't hesitate to follow up by calling their previous employer. You'd be surprised to find out how many new company owners started out right here with minimal experience under their belt!
Never provide an Inspector with a competiting bid from another company even if the Inspector offers to purchase it from you, a serious red flag! A knowledgable Inspector takes pride in his job and will not offer to purchase or match bids for your business.
Never let an Inspector know prior to your inspection that you're having other companies bid for your business until the inspection report is your hands. This way you will get an honest inspection up front.
Beware of long lost waterproofing Inspectors who contacts you out of the blue. Especially if he/she is no longer employed for the company you initially called for your inspection. This action represents "theft of company information" and should be reported to the waterproofing company immediately.
Beware of "friends of friends" or "I know a guy" suggestions, not everyone is qualified or experienced in repairing foundations nor can they provide a warranty for work performed.
Never ever pay in full before the work is completed and when you select a company for any major repairs you shouldn't place more than a 20% down payment in order to secure your work date.
